I think the movie did really well!
In a society filled with people with very judgmental beliefs, this story is pretty well done and depicts how Indians would react and behave around a divorced man who is dating a girl who is almost the same age as his daughter.
The story is very well written and it definitely deserves a 4/5. I highly recommend watching this movie as it is really funny and also addresses various issues in the Indian society.

De De Pyaar De is a unique movie in terms of its story, execution and Ajay Devgn, who never reminds you of his real life. He fits in his role perfectly. Rakulpreet Singh looks hot and beautiful. Her acting is good. Tabu is good on her part. Jimmy Shergill is refreshing in his character, though his role is small. The direction by Akiv Ali is good. Most of the film keeps you engaged. The comedy scenes are spot on. The situations in the movie makes you laugh. The first and the second half both score same. Music is refreshing. I liked the song "hauli hauli" which comes during the end credits. Other songs are also good. The best part of this movie is:- 1) Ajay Devgn 2) Rakulpreet Singh 3) Family Members of Ajay Devgn 4) Visually Pleasing 5) Cameo by Sunny Nijar (titu in sonu ke titu ki sweety) 6) Unusual Story which is shown humourusly. 7) Comedy/Humour. Overall, I loved this flick. I was laughing and enjoying myself.

i loved this movie!!! A slow yet steady pick up in the first few minutes but a fun wholesome entertainment. Superb casting. Tabu in her usual best form. Ajay extremely fitting well and well, acting his usual age self...reminded me of anant! Mature and more! Rakulpreet seems real and promising . Pretty much eye candy in the first half but delivers a nice performance especially since it is a rad bit difficult to be in the same frame as the earlier two. The movie is a coming of age comedy. I found the issues or "stigmas " of the day handled in a very very mature fashion. So its not preachy at all, yet, slips in a wise anecdote to pass on a message or two. The dialogues in some places reminded me of the 70s...full filmy but they work. I cannot let go off a few scenes for sure. Don't want to give any spoilers but, watch it for refreshing entertainment.

The writing of the film packs a few punches but they all come in spurts. A quicker pace and pithy script could have elevated debutant director Akiv Ali's film a notch higher. All the actors acted well as part of a good story. I would say this movie is worth one time watch as it will make you laugh at the situations shown in the movie.

Very bad movie with absolutely no laughs whatsoever - super boring movie. The first half is such a bore that even an insomniac will sleep, the second half changes gear and the story starts when Ajay devgn convinces his family, here also the writing and direction is extremely poor, though Tabu shines throughout, her screen presence is strong, and her character only seems to have a layer. Ajay is as usual, the same as he is been, Rakul is good in her role, others are just supporting characters and are just one tone. The music is forgettable and cinematography is below average, all in all an extremely forgettable movie, don't go for it!

DE DE PYAAR DE : 4/5* Watching the trailers for a while, I couldn’t wait but watch this movie “First day first show” (after a long time). And boy oh boy... it was absolutely worth it... mature as wine... young as the early rising sun... hilariously funny dialogues with perfect timing... and beautiful songs which I am still humming ! “EK AAMIR BUDDHA AUR EK HOT JAWAAN BACHHI MILE, BACHHI KO PAISA DIKHA AUR BUDDHE KO JAWAANI DIKHI” said so coolly by the finest comic actor, Javed Jaffrey, a friend cum doctor (with an original degree) of Ashish (Ajay Devgn) a successful businessman living in London, who falls for the cute bubbly n sharaabi Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh). Sweet innocent flirting and some mature experienced thinking, falling in love... and then realising whether it’s right or wrong... staying away for a while and then coming back even stronger... so much so that Ashish takes Ayesha home back to India to meet his separated wife Manju (Tabu) and his kids and parents. What happens there is a total laughter riot with a dash of emotional drama... some old chores to be settled... some responsibilities to be fulfilled... and some decisions to be made. DDPD is a fun ride that reinstates the fact that when it come to love, age is just a number ! Ajay Devgn is playing his age and looks great ... his chemistry with the young and gorgeous Rakul Preet Singh doesn’t feel wrong... Tabu looks drop dead gorgeous and her comic timing is spot on... Javed Jaffrey, Alok Nath, Jimmy Shergill and others have equally added to the fun. It’s not just a mindless comedy but also quite serious and a mature movie. Go watch it !!!

A typically illogical romcom about a 50 year old UK based Finance manager who falls hopelessly in love with a sexy bartender who’s nearly half his age. The catch here is- introducing the new entrant to his big fat family in Kulu Manali, India. Situational hilarity ensues with the family disapproving of the liaison and some misunderstandings leading to more confusion and sometimes laughter as well. Though there is nothing novel in this movie, the director has handled the comedy parts quite well sometimes stooping to slapstick as well. The running time of 134 minutes is quite long for an one dimensional plot like this, editing needed serious attention. The music is loud and bombastic and has that punjabi wedding DJ flavour except two beautiful songs sung passionately by Arijit Singh viz; Dil Roye Jaaye and Tu Mila To Hai Na, you can listen to these two on loop. Ajay Devgun nearly sleepwalks through this role, even punches some goons to consolidate his action image but no wonder why he’s made to look like he’s got an eternal hangover. Rakulpreet has that vintage Sridevi appeal inclusive of cosmetically enhanced features. Veteran Alok Nath as the grumpy dad gets some good one liners and poor Jimmy Shergill is yet again typecast as the forever waiting groom. Javed Jaffri as the comical psychiatrist is spot on. Tabu- can she ever go wrong? At 48 she looks sexier and wilder than ever. While she underplays during the comic scenes she gets one breakdown scene wherein she nails it hard, hers is undoubtedly the best act in this ensemble cast. This is more of the “leave your brain at home” popcorn entertainment variety of romcom. If you try hard to hunt for logic you’ll find a sack full of loopholes and if you watch it like an fairytale you may enjoy the proceedings on screen.

The story revolves around the love story of an old man and young lady. As long it goes on, it was getting more and more interesting, but most movies lack a good ending and here it ends perfectly. The love wins finally. The second half is worth watching. The movie is full of comedy and emotions. It was beautiful to watch London and the part of North India. Firstly, Rakul Preet Singh, don't know how to describe her, but mind blowing. The character she played is a dream girl for every guys and she made it perfect with her dialogue, expression, smile everything. She was too beautiful in the movie. Ajay Devgan, the best in giving expression, so many things are going in your mind, you are restless, but you have to be quiet, Ajay got the perfect expression for this.

As it seems from trailers, it was full of good comedy. I called it as good comedy since you can watch and enjoy this with your full family and there are not much of bold scenes or vulgar comedy. I have enjoyed it with my family including children. Ajay Devgan is 1 of the best actors currently for such low budget family or comedy movies. Lacks a little bit of story.

Movies begins with the modern living style of foreigners where Ajay well acquitted with the lifestyle end up meeting College going girl Rakul. Ajay in search of new excitement and Rakul in expectation of stability got along. But the age difference of approximately twenty six years caused a generation gap between their mindsets. Like the old saying that issue attracts, both ultimately feel in love. To give their relationship a new beginning Ajay wanted his old story to get along. This gave the movie exciting twists and turns which shows the real meaning of family, love, relationship and responsibilities. Overall a must watch.

This movie is funny as hell. Go and watch this movie. Ajay Devgn's charm is always there and his comic timing is superb. Tabu's acting is phenomenal, just like she amazed us in Andhadhun, in this movie too, she has played her character with utmost care and detailing. The good thing about the film is that Ajay took this as joke upon himself and rather than other Khans who are doing movies with less than half their age actresses. Rakul Preet is such a gorgeous actress, I'd like to see her more often. Overall it's a fun watch. I personally enjoyed it.

"De De Pyar De"was a very good movie except for 3 points viz.the unnecessary songs, the poor ending and Ajay Devgn. I did not agree with the ending, but will refrain from commenting on it as I do not want to provide any spoilers here. Ajay Devgn is a total misfit when it comes to soft mushy romantic and comic roles. Somehow in this movie more than usual, he looked especially old, tired and highly ordinary. He is ideally suited for roles like he plays in "Singham",but not for roles like this one. If Anil Kapoor had played the part instead of AD and they had left out the songs and had a proper ending the movie would have been a classic comedy. Rakul was like a breath of fresh air and was brilliant in the movie as Tabu was as always. All in all except for the 3 points,a very enjoyable movie. 7/10

De De Pyaar De is a romantic comedy which I found to be a fun entertainer. The humour filled script with the perfect comic timing is the highlight of the movie. Tabu is simply superb and Ajay Devgn is also good, they have great chemistry going on. The movie is not for everybody as it does cover sensitive topics like divorces, remarriage at old age, live in relationship and difference in the age gap of lovers.

De De Pyaar De is another romantic comedy by the team of Pyar Ka Punchnama 1-2 & Sonu Ke Teetu Ki Sweety that adds a refreshing new angle to modern day urban love story. The film's plot is centered on Ajay Devgan (Ashish Mehra) a 50-year man searching for love. Set in London, this film goes through a series of hilarious and sometimes jump of the seat dialogues written by the Luv Ranjan. Director Akiv Ali strikes a good balance between a modern-day love story and old age morale. The dialogues and one liner are the main fuel of this movie. Regarding the performances, Ajay devgan and Rakul are just touching the average line. However, Tabu shows that she still has lot of acting alive in her. Jimmy Shergill again got wasted one more time, his role is more like a copy of his previous roles in Tanu weds Manu and Happy Bhaag Jayegi. The Film lacks wow factor in most of the departments. The young crowd will find this film boring and oldies will reject the theme as bold. An average movie to see with light heart.

Gurpreet posted a review for De De Pyaar De in Movies
De De Pyaar De was seeking attention from the trailer itself when we knew a successful name like Luv Ranjan is coming after Super Hit SKTKS. But one doubt was spoiling the mind that he's not the Director this time but just a producer, so were we supposed to trust New Director like Akiv Ali? No, we were not. Keeping the expectations Low for the valid reasons told, has worked on High note for De De Pyaar De as Akiv Ali manages to exceed the expectations by fair margin. DDPD can surely be called a Successful Debut for any Director in this genre. But how much successful? Let's find out. De De Pyaar De is not a Love traingle but it is pretended to be a love triangle in urban style where sophistication doesn't stand for a long time. It is a story of Rich guy around 45 and a hot young girl of 26 falling in love of each other in London. The guy is Divorced (not actually) who decides that his Girlfriend should meet his Ex-wife and other family members in India before they get married. That Family visit creates fiasco and then lies, cover ups and relationship bond theories are explored. The narrative here is Funny, Entertaining and engaged especially in the first half while the ending portion is bit dragged and unexpectedly slow. The biggest USP of the film is it's Dialogue writing, you get into it at the beginning and you never go out of the Intelligent Conversations until the lukewarm ending arrives. You may remember the Flirting conversation of Ajay and Rakul for some time or might even use some of those dialogues in real life. As an Actor Ajay Devgn is decent, his acting talent deserves better roles indeed, this wasn't it. Rakul Preet looks Hot, Spicy and she is talkative as hell. The most sensible character is played by Tabu and she keeps the sensible act intact. Supporting cast along with Special appearance of Javed Jafferry and Jimmy Shergill will surely receive your love. Music department is fairly good, although some songs appear at the wrong occassions it can't be blamed fully because couple of situational songs lifts the screenplay up. Coming to the main thing, the writer and the Director of the film Akiv Ali did leave an impact. As a debut Director he surely deserves the credit and therefore some mistakes can be forgiven. He makes sure you don't lose the interest, you don't lose the grin smile on your face, he keep you immersed with the narrative for 100 minutes and then last 20 minutes might not be that tall but again the last scene of the film hits it back to the tempo along with interesting hint on the Sequel. The only thing he lacked was, the Bang On Climax. Luv Ranjan Films had the Climax lifting it up and may be that's why the repeat value was there, here Akiv miss that but he still has guaranteed Hit material in hand. Overall, De De Pyaar De is an Organic Fun ride with special mention to dialogues writing and is surely watchable for the youths, couples and even family members (with lots of beeps). It could have been the 7/10 film but that not so intellectual climax made the difference.

The film directed by Ali starts with the story of Ajay - 50 year old man meeting a girl aged 26 years in his friends wedding. The story continues with the cute love story between these two which starts with flirting. The story continues to be cute and funny until the two go to India to meet the wife and grown up children of Ajay and here comes the drama all together and definitely from here the story is unexpected. Music is good and supports the screenplay to make it worth watching. The director has shown his skills though it is his debut film and made the film entertaining to watch with family and friends for fun.

This is the story of aged man love with the girl of his daughters age. The story starts in London and gradually comes to India. The romance scenes between Ajay and the girl are cute and funny. The story is about 50 year old man facing disapproval from his family when he falls in love with a 26 year old girl. Director has made the scenes crispy and cute. The romance that starts for fun turns into serious relationship with time. The movie is good for its lovely story and is definitely watchable for the comedy and cute story. The drama starts once Ajay takes his girl friend to meet his family in India with an unpredictable end and less drama. It is a family watchable story.

De De Pyar De - if you were intrigued by the trailer and dismissed De De Pyar De is a mindless comedy, then it's worth a trip to the theatre. This film revolves around a 50-year old man falling in love with a girl half his age and its consequences. The subject is dealt with adept sensitivity by the debutante director Akiv Ali, who keeps the initial flirtation and courting brief, and yet confronts the debate over the future of such a relationship between the couple. When they have made up their mind to proceed with their relationship, it's showtime - introduction to the man's family and orientation is in order, and this is where hell breaks loose. The storytelling is snappy and lighthearted, but it keeps going back to do a reality check on a number of subjects like midlife crisis, a single mother's pressure bringing up her children, the children's rebellious psychology (I thought that the daughter's reaction was completely the top, lacked civility and was the only sore point), the turmoil of the generation gap between the young girl and the much older man and the genuine efforts to come to terms with reality. Ajay Devgn is suave, in great shape and gives a rock solid performance swinging between the mature man and a crisis-hit lover. Rakul Preet shines bright in a tailor made role, flaunting sophistication, sex appeal, volatility being branded the "other woman". Tabu hits home her natural flair, delivering yet another confident and superlative role. Jimmy Shergil, Alok Nath, Kumud Mishra and Javed Jaffrey provide adequate support. London and Manali are fantastic as the backdrop of the drama, which you can say won't appeal to the masses generally, on the downside. Catch De De Pyar De for some fun and if you're in mood for some thought provoking moments.

De De Pyaar De is a fun and light way to spend your weekend. The story is about how a 50 year old man falls in love with a 26 year old girl. The story may seem unrealistic and sexist at times, but it is made beautifully with comical dialogues; at least it is better than the unrealistic same old school cliches where actors like Salman Khan, Sharukh Khan and others are still romancing girls half their age. Rakul Preet Kaur is the one who steals the show, where the chemistry Tabu and Ajay hold is what keeps the viewers intrigued.

The moment 1st half starts falling, interval comes which makes u look forward to the 2nd part. Post interval is entertaining, hilarious, mad and bit emotional. Ajay is perfect, rakul looks very hot and acts well, and tabu is supported well by others. Backed by good music, De De Pyar De is definitely a winner.

This is the love story of a middle aged man with the girl half his age. It is a love story with cute romance and more. The drama starts when the man asks his separated wife for approval and family living in India. The flirting between Ajay and the heroine is cute and romantic. The narration from the director tries to balance between modern thinking and old school methodology. The director could have induced more comedy and fun with the options he got but he missed it which is a bit missing in the film. Overall the movie is fun, cute, romantic with the beautiful flirting scenes in London and back in India the story of Ajay with his separated wife. This is a weekend watchable movie.

After Sonu ke Titu ki sweety I really had high hopes with this film because it's the same team which made Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety has made De De Pyaar De(DDPD). First half was really disappointing but I really enjoyed the second half. It will also teach you few things about life & relationship. This is not typical bollywood Rom-Com, this love story talks about divorce, live-in relationship and obviously about the age difference. I really liked how makers have communicated serious topics through humor. This movie tells you to be broadminded. This film make you laugh for sure and might make you emotional at few places. You can definitely go for this film and you will not feel like you wasted your money.

A Bollywood Romcom that delivers. Ajay Devgan and Tabu has done a perfect job. Rakul as young bartender has a good job too. So the story goes like a 50 year old guy who lives away from wife and kids falls in love with a young bartender and later on introduces her to his extended family. That is where the actual fun begins with two women taking dig at each other with their dialogues. The songs were good. The story line is good. Overall a watchable film.

It is rare in Bollywood that an actor plays his age.Very few dare to do that. Aamir Khan did it in Dangal and now Ajay is doing that in this movie Ajay is playing a 50 year old which is his real age and the heroine is 26 years old. The age difference issue is always seen as serious topics. But kudos to the director they are showing in a funny manner with a story that makes you sit completely in the theatre. Also it is having talented star cast consisting of Tabu,Jimmy Shergill & Javed Jaffrey to name a few. There are few abuses and looking at the kind of topic it is,family audienc might stay away. But the youth is going to love it as they prefer story over stars. In Short it is a funny version of Cheeni Kum and one time watch movie.
